The new office of Niesing Accountants is located in a run-of-the-mill office unit on the first floor of the Noorderveld shopping centre. It was therefore a nice challenge to make the interior surprisingly attractive.

White spiral staircase
As soon as you step inside on the ground floor, you are immediately invited to ascend the voluptuous spiral staircase that fills the space in the centre of the reception hall. The staircase is made of white powder-coated steel and is flanked by a black glass lift. This automatically makes you choose the stairs. The steps are clad in oak and form the start of the oak runner that remains a tangible feature throughout the design. This matt-coated oak contrasts beautifully with the satin-gloss dark concrete floor.

Raised patio
A raised patio has been created in the centre of the floor, featuring two Japanese ornamental cherry trees. Here, the steps transform into an informal seating area, which mainly serves as an outdoor space in the summer – with open sliding doors – where you can sit and chat or enjoy a drink. The patio – and therefore the daylight – can be felt in all rooms, as all the walls along the oak corridor are made of glass.
